How Important Is It?

Breaking your fast correctly is an essential part of Ramadan, especially if you’re fasting for one of those 30 days in Sha Allah. We recently wrote about different types of people who can break their fast on Laylatul Qadr. Breaking your fast incorrectly will cause harm and could cause you to fall ill, so don’t skip on reading our Roza ki dua in English post!  When we talk about Roza ki dua in Urdu, it means breaking you are fast correctly. This can mean a few different things, but first, let’s start with when you have to break your fast. Breaking your fast at sunset is an essential part of Ramadan and one of the two main fiqh rulings for fasting during Ramadan. It’s also one of two reasons that Muslims don’t eat or drink from dawn until sunset.

Breaking your fast is all about timing, so even if you know when sunset will be in your area, it can still be hard to figure out exactly when that is. That’s why we created a Roza ki dua calculator for easy access! It will show you what time of day it will be from wherever you are on earth, according to sunset times for different locations. If a Person Forgets

If you’re fasting and forget, you don’t have to start over. If your fast is broken because of forgetfulness, there’s no penalty. If you remember after a while, then make it up by fasting an equal number of days later or feeding a poor person for each day missed. This latter form of expiation is called kaffara. You can also break your fast and then make it up by feeding 60 needy people if possible. So in reality, nothing bad happens if someone forgets about their fasts as long as they don’t try to weasel out of them when others find out.

Breaking your fast out of forgetfulness is something that almost everyone has done before, and if you’ve done it, it’s okay. In fact, Muslims have an expression that says it’s much better to break your fast with a date than with a sin. So no matter what happens, just relax and try not to worry too much about it. If you remember afterwards and realize you’ve broken your fast, just make up for it by fasting another day or feeding a poor person for each day you missed.

Mustaam (Mustahabb Acts During Ramadan)

Roza kholne ki dua is a mustahabb (recommended) act that has been proven from many sources. If someone says, I will break my fast after Esha, then he must break his fast with one or more dates in order to complete his fast. Breaking one’s fast with dates serves as a source of strength for those fasting and brings about reward and barakah (blessings). It also helps you not get distracted during Sehri. However, if there are no dates available then it is permissible to break your fast with water, milk or any other food item that is easily digestible. The Prophet Muhammad said: Whoever does not give up forged speech and evil actions, Allah is not in need of his leaving his food and drink (i.e., Allah will not accept his fasting.) [Muslim] In another hadith, Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) stated: Every action of the son of Adam is given manifold reward, each good deed receiving ten times its like, up to seven hundred times. Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, said: Except for fasting which is for Me and I shall reward for it. One who fasts has two occasions of joy; when he breaks his fast he feels joy over having attained His Pleasure and when he meets His Lord he will be joyful because of his fasting. Fasting is a shield against sinning. Fasting makes an angel call out at night saying, Oh seeker of goodness! Rise up to pray and seek forgiveness. It prevents one from lying and backbiting. He protects him from committing sins by day and by night. Fasting makes all acts of worship perfect. It raises man’s stature before Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala so much so that angels would envy him except for his deeds being even better than his stature.
